ACTION A.4: Sperm characterization and optimization of sperm cryopreservation in S. macrostigma

This action is aimed at analyzing the reproductive quality of native trout by examining the sperm. In this regard, cryopreservation protocols will be developed to allow better conservation of the samples to be analyzed from the sampling sites up to the analysis laboratories.

The new protocols for the cryogenic conservation of sperm are one of the flagships of the project that will allow a careful analysis of the quality of the breeding subjects and an increase in the genetic variability of the native Mediterranean trout.
