ACTION C.4: Restoration of genetic integrity by controlling access in the main spawning areas
The main purpose of the action is to protect and restore the genetic integrity of the native Mediterranean trout in the project area through natural reproduction, providing access to the main deposition sites only to individuals with very low levels of genetic introgression, or not introgressed.
C4.1 Capture of wild breeders, identification of marked specimens, collection of biological tissue samples and marking of unlabelled specimens
C4.2 Genetic characterization of unmarked breeders
C4.3 Collection of fresh semen from native trout and release of specimens captured upstream, with simultaneous removal of non-native specimens from the site.
