New appointments of the NatsalMo educational path

Between 13 and 14 May, more than 250 elementary and middle school students were involved in the NatsalMo educational path, to discover the river biodiversity of Biferno and Volturno.

Last Friday we first went to the Sorgenti del Volturno with the pupils of the IV elementary school of the Istituto Comprensivo Don Giulio Testa, Sesto Campano school: the children were offered an educational path to discover the animal and plant biodiversity of the area and reflections on the inclusion of anthropogenic activities in natural contexts. In the afternoon, however, we headed to the Piana dei Mulini on the Biferno with the students of the Istituto Comprensivo Difesa Grande in Termoli, describing to the children the protected and rare species of our territory such as the Mediterranean trout, the otter and various species of trees, shrubs and flowers.

Early in the morning on Saturday 14th we headed to the naturalistic Oasis Le Mortine at Venafro with the students of the third grade of the Istituto Comprensivo Don Giulio Testa. The area was chosen for the presence of humid environments and for practicality because the means of transport made available by the school were not allowed to leave their municipality.

All the activities were coordinated by Giusi De Castro who made use of the collaboration of Valeria Papili and Simone Giovacchini, two young, highly trained naturalists.
