First incipient trout nests in the Volturno: closure of the No Kill stretches

With the last recent rains and with the lowering of temperatures, the autumn season finally seems to have come alive in Molise. In the depths of the Volturno and its tributaries, the first trout females begin to be seen sporadically, intent on moving the gravel to build their own nest, in which in due course they will go to lay their eggs.

To allow the fish fauna to reproduce undisturbed, the Sport Fishing Association of Colli a Volturno has not hesitated to close the stretches under its management even now, before the time allowed by law.
It is truly a great example of sensitivity for the territory, care for the habitats and species that live there.
