University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine “Ion Ionescu de la Brad” of Iasi (Romania)

The Faculty of Animal Sciences of the University of Iasi includes specialization in fish farming and the project team is composed of researchers who have strictly related activities to it:

Prof. Vasile Vulpe, Director of the Veterinary Doctorate School, currently teaches Fish Pathology at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry. He was director of 4 national research projects whose central theme revolved around the precious diagnosis of pathological events in fish, as well as the impact on the commercial quality of food deriving from these pathologies. He has published over 70 scientific papers on this subject and 4 monographs. In this project he coordinates the activities from Romania by organizing seminar activities.

Prof. Benone Păsărin, Vice-Chancellor, currently teaches Aquaculture, fishing tools and techniques at the Animal Husbandry Faculty. He was director of 7 national research projects concerning fisheries. He is the author of over 60 articles and 5 monographs.

Dr. Gherasim Nacu, who currently teaches Physiology and Reproduction in the “Fishing” section of the Faculty of Animal Sciences. He has collaborated on 7 national research projects focused on fishing and has published over 30 scientific articles in the field and 2 monographs.
