The first heavy rains of autumn have arrived. For the Biferno trout it is time to prepare for the ascent to the breeding sites. In a few weeks the gravel groves of Rio Santa Maria will host the first spawns of reproducers who face journeys of up to tens of kilometers to reach the most suitable place for laying and fertilizing the eggs. This year they will find one less slowdown: the fish passage we built to overcome an artificial bridle with greater ease has come into action and with the increase in flow rates due to the rains it is now fully operational also for use by large breeders arriving from the Biferno.
