Born from the passion for the environment and for aquatic animals, this research group combines professionals in the field of veterinary medicine, ichthyology, biology and natural sciences. The fusion of different specializations allows the group to be at the forefront in research in aquaculture, ichthyology, aquatic ecology, biotechnology and the dissemination of environmental sciences. The Mediterranean Trout Research Group is the promoter of Italian guidelines for appropriate actions to mitigate the effects of global climate change on native fish populations. It works in collaboration with university departments, parks and “Fish and Game” of local and regional administrations, to develop projects for the recovery and conservation of native species.
