The Caprionero stream is an important tributary of the Volturno river, where native trout usually go to reproduce. As is known, near Sant’Eusanio, it was interrupted in its continuity by a waterfall of about one meter jump and by an artificial section in reinforced concrete box without any shelter for the ascent of the fish fauna.
Through the construction of a ramp for fish and the installation of some small deflectors, it was possible to reconstruct a hydraulic continuity to ensure that the fish can ascend the impetuous current, finding areas of refuge and thus access the upper sector of the torrent.
