At the beginning of March we began to sow the Biferno eggs incubated in the Oratino hatchery. The first 15 nests were built on the Rio Freddo, at the sources of the Biferno di Pietre Cadute and at the sources of the Rio Santa Maria. Inside them we sowed the first 10,000 embryonated eggs. In truth the eggs were hatching in the days they are sown, so in just over a month we will be able to see the new born come out of the nests. Still many other nests will have to be built this spring: pandemic permitting, we hope to be able to do it also together with the fishermen’s associations who are at our side in this path towards the recovery of the native trout of the Biferno!
